For the underprivileged high school students in remote mountain regions in China

“Change for Good for Grace Charity 2013” is a charity dinner party organized by a group of volunteers aiming at supporting Grace Charity’s educational work in the remote mountainous areas in Mainland China. Grace Charity Foundation has no salaried staff nor charging administration fees from received donations. All proceeds (after deducting food and beverage costs) will be donated to the “Continued Education Fund” for designated purpose.

“Continued Education Fund” aims to subsidize the underprivileged high school students with learning aspirations and outstanding academic performance to continue their education. After the implementation of the 9-Years Government Subsidized Education Policy in Mainland China, the situation of primary and junior high school students has been improved. However, many under-privileged senior high school students still lack of the opportunity to continue their education as they cannot afford the basic tuition fees and even living expenses. Girls are more likely forced to drop out of school due to outdated traditional Chinese gender concept. Therefore, the Organizing Committee hopes to raise public awareness and subsequent funding to give those needy students a fair opportunity to receive continued education, even up to University, so that they can eventually help themselves and be free from poverty in the future.
